1968 - 2018: 50 years of history of SEW-EURODRIVE Italy.

It all began on October 21, 1968, with the registration of SEW Italia in the register of the Milan Chamber of Commerce, while the following year production activities began at the Limbiate (MB) plant. Exactly 50 years have passed since then and today the company has many reasons to celebrate this period in which it has always been a protagonist in the world of automation. As a world leader in the production and sale of products and systems for industrial automation and logistics and process SEW-EURODRIVE has carried out a brilliant path, always on the rise through the path of innovation, to develop sustainable solutions and innovative technologies and reliable. All this to ensure lasting success to its customers and contribute to improving the quality of life and conservation of energy resources. Fifty years lived with you! Thanks also to the proximity of our regional Drive Centers that since 1973 are at your side.

In order to pursue all of this, SEW-EURODRIVE is constantly engaged on three fronts: TECHNOLOGY - cutting-edge systems that drive the digital transformation of Industry 4.0, SERVICES - engineering, consulting, support, training, project management, service and finally QUALITY - with the continuous improvement of processes, skills, services and technology. The new headquarters: a metaphor of innovation

Being on the motion means going beyond and also something concrete like the new company headquarters has a meaning that transcends and that represents a new place, where new processes, new ways of working together find their natural space.

The history of SEW-EURODRIVE, its being in motion, and the origins in its continuous evolution are well represented in the structure of the new headquarters. The architectural elements express the movement typical of the identity of SEW-EURODRIVE and the sense of repetition connected to the conformation of the gears of the engines produced by the company. Work spaces have become flexible to balance individual needs with the need for interaction. They offer a mix of open and closed environments, giving the possibility to work individually in a quiet space or with colleagues in an open space or in areas designed for team work. The spaces must have different characteristics, established on the basis of four typical needs that represent the activities of the employees: concentration, collaboration, communication and contemplation.

The project was carried out by the Lombardini22 Group of Milan, which once again experimented with an integrated and synchronized design among the disciplines - interior design, architecture, engineering - and its brands, enhancing skills and new design models according to a parametric approach in which technology a leading role.

Within our Smart Factory of Solaro, the logistics of the factory logistics is entrusted to 45 MAS, Mobile Assistance System, that is autonomous guidance systems that also act as workbenches, able to communicate with each other and manage the flows of production based on the data of the individual processes. A scenario in which intralogistics assumes a new role, becoming a key element of a Lean Smart Production in which cyber-physics systems become partners of operators who, entrusting MAS with the most repetitive activities, can devote themselves to work with greater added value for customers .

The digitized flow of the entire assembly process, which can be monitored in real time, allows us to focus even more on the needs of our customers, offering production performances that guarantee long-term success in the future.
