Decentralized drive technology couldn't be more intelligent, lean, efficient, and cost-efficient than this: MOVIGEAR® performance combines motor, gear unit and electronics in a single housing. MOVIGEAR® performance can be operated at all common Ethernet-based infrastructures.
Mechatronic drive system with electronics integrated into the motor
We used the modular automation system MOVI-C® as the basis to further develop out mechatronic drive system MOVIGEAR®. MOVIGEAR® performance adds to the functionality and consistency of our existing products. This increases the range of possible applications of our drive technology that has been tried and tested for decades.
Due to the integrated digital interface, the electronic nameplate and various sensor signals are transferred between motor and electronics without the necessity of any further installation. Communication is via fieldbus interfaces, such as PROFINET IO, EtherNet/IP™ and Modbus TCP, and integrated, digital inputs and outputs. This makes MOVIGEAR® performance the perfect choice for dynamic conveyor applications.
The new mechatronic drive unit stands out with its compact design and high overload capacity. By achieving the highest motor efficiency class IE5 to IEC TS 60034-30-2 and the maximum system efficiency to IEC 61800-9-2, MOVIGEAR® performance surpasses all conventional solutions to date.

Tobias Nittel, product manager for decentralized drive technology at SEWEURODRIVE:
"The MOVI-C® modular automation system gives customers the option to implement their application both with inverters in a control cabinet and with drive electronics that are either located close to the motor or integrated into it. What's more, they can do so without noticing any differences in terms of project planning, handling and performance. An essential part of the platform is the digital motor integration. They supports automatic drive train startup and also ensures that various sensor signals can be transmitted from the motor to the electronics without requiring any additional installation work."
