With the EvoFilm® Stretch packer, Sidel has developed a future-ready technology for secondary packaging. While shrink film is still widely used today due to its best-in-class lightness/ density ratio per selling unit, stretch wrapping technology delivers additional great results. Sidel offers a compact machine architecture that conserves resources and reduce machine footprint as no shrink tunnel is needed anymore. No heat is required after the wrapping process as the stretch film holds firmly together the batch of products delivering an increased pack stability on the pallet. Transparency and brilliance are also preserved to answer the highest aesthetic market needs. Available for cans, PET or glass bottles, the solution is also greatly appreciated in the need of collating multipacks where the logistic and supply chain needs are answered at a very reduced cost. Another advantage: the machine copes with a wide range of speed, of up to 80 packs per minute, thanks to its modular design that also enables an easy integration into existing lines. Recycled films cans be used, to help reaching existing and future sustainability goals.
Efficient, flexible, and sustainable packaging automation requires more than just a gear motor – it calls for holistic solutions.
What role does SEW-EURODRIVE drive technology play in this?
At the core is the modular automation system MOVI-C®, offering:

This project demonstrates how partnership, modern automation, and sustainable packaging technology go hand in hand – and how SEW-EURODRIVE supports customers worldwide with fast, holistic solutions.
EvoFilm Stretch offers clear advantages compared to a traditional shrink wrapper: a reduction in film consumption of more than 50% and a reduction in electricity consumption of more than 90%. This is due to the fact that this technology does not require a shrink oven. Not having the oven also allows for a much more compact layout.Giorgio RoccaThe use of stretch film makes the pallet more stable and therefore allows a reduction in plastic film usage on the pallet of more than 30%. The possibility of using recycled film also helps Sidel in achieving its sustainability goals. It is a reliable machine, already oriented towards the future of secondary packaging.
For Sidel, it was essential to find a partner capable of fully automating our EvoFilm Stretch machine. Our equipment is synonymous with the highest quality and cutting-edge technology, and SEW-EURODRIVE helps us achieve these standards.Chiara FedericiThanks to the modular automation system MOVI-C®, and engineering support, we were able to reduce development times and fully support the needs of our customers.
The long-standing collaboration with Sidel is born from mutual trust and grows thanks to technological innovation, sustainable production, and high quality. Together we look to the future, creating cutting-edge solutions with maximum reliability that meet the needs of various market sectors in continuous change.Fabio DalmonteAnd in particular sectors such as beverages, food, and home care, the flexibility of our automation solutions makes the film-wrapping process into logistic units more efficient and adaptable, whether it is bottles of beverages of bottles of shower gel. This versatility represents a strength to best support our customers, but our collaboration goes beyond technology: it is a shared vision of excellence, a common journey toward a more sustainable future, with the commitment to generate a positive and lasting impact, truly able to make a difference.
